We Are Scientists!

Last week we began a new Unit of Inquiry and visited the science lab to experiment with items in different states. We compared, contrasted, sorted, and mixed. This gave us lots to think about and made us wonder.

We discussed the various reactions we observed when mixing the items placed on the table and noticed that we used our five senses a lot while experimenting. We then went up to the lab again today and did a couple experiments involving baking soda and vinegar. This made us wonder even more and we added a lot of questions to our "Wonder Wall".

Watch the amazing reaction we observed during our experiment!:

  2. Thanks Mr. Iftekar! We had fun. Some burst and sprayed on us because they had holes. What happened in this experiment is this: When the baking soda mixed with the vinegar, it caused a reaction. The carbon dioxide tried to get out of the bottle, but the balloon was trapping it! It got bigger and bigger as more carbon dioxide tried to get out. Then, some balloons burst because there were holes that let out the gas!
