Reminders

Tomorrow, Sunday, June 8, we will be heading to the AEEA for a party to celebrate our wonderful year. Please review what your child needs to bring. Note that we will be eating snack at school before we leave, so please send that like normal:

To celebrate a wonderful year we would like to have a party on Sunday, June 8 with all three KG classes. We will come to school like normal, attend Bump-Up day, and then head over to the American Embassy Employee Association (AEEA) for swimming and fun. Pizza and veggies will be served for lunch. We will return to the school in time for normal dismissal. Please complete the attached permission slip and return it along with 400 taka by Wednesday, June 4.

On Sunday your child will need to bring:
·      a swimming bag with a suit, towel and goggles if desired
·      a water bottle
·      a hat
·      sandals for the pool area (if your child would like them)

Please help your child apply mosquito repellent and sunscreen at home and put in his/her bag if you would like it reapplied during the day. Thank you!

This coming Wednesday at 7:45 is our celebration with YOU! Please join us in our classroom for roughly a half hour before you head off to work so that we can share all we've been up to and how much we've grown this year. We can't wait to see you!

Buddy Fun

We met up with our 5th grade buddies yesterday to create photo frames as a keepsake of our time together. We've so enjoyed meeting with them throughout the year and wish it could have happened more regularly!

Jar of Memories

Your child will be bringing home his "Jar of Memories" today. He has filled this jar with significant events in his life that he doesn't want to forget. Please take the time to go through the jar with your child; you will love looking at what he finds to be memorable! You may even want to consider writing on the back of each strip if you don't think you'll be able to read your child's writing at a later time. Please help your child keep this in a special place as it will be something I know he will enjoy looking back at later in life.

What amazing readers we are!

We have been working on fluency (reading smoothly) and expression when reading. We have realized that authors give us lots of clues about how to read their books, such as bolded words, larger text and punctuation. Iris and Nora demonstrated using the author Joy Cowley's clues.

Senior Walk-Through

On Thursday our KG students participated in a yearly tradition in which the graduating seniors walk through the hallways of AISD one last time and our school community celebrates their success. The kindergarteners sang the "Hello" song and recited "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" by Dr. Seuss. They were quite impressive! Please enjoy the videos and pictures below.
